Who is loving the beautiful weather? Who isn’t loving the smell of body odour that comes with sweating in the hot weather? Well, if you are one of those who hate body odour but prefer using natural products, then this post is for you.

PitRok Crystal Original Natural Deodorant Stick

The PitRok Crystal Original Natural Deodorant Stick is a natural, crystal deodorant that is fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin.  It works by applying a thin layer of mineral salt which is a bacteriostatic agent that prevents odour causing bacteria from growing, and it does not block pores. It is suitable for sensitive skin, is free of Aluminium Zirconium and Aluminium Chlorohydrate, propylene glycol, SLS/SLES, parabens, fragrance and silicones.

When a product has as many 5-star reviews as this one does, it’s worth paying attention to it and checking it out. It definitely captured my attention and I wanted to share my thoughts on it with all of your beautiful faces!

It comes packaged in a shiny, black plastic tube with the PitRok logo in white and gold in the front. It has a screw cap lid and the product itself is a hard, translucent crystal that can be pushed up from the bottom. It hold 100g of product. 

Application and Results:

To use, you need to apply directly to freshly cleaned, wet underarms. The best way to do this is to simply grab it and apply as soon as you get out of the bath or shower.

It is important to use this on clean underarms. If you want to use it as a top up either later on in the day or in the morning if you bathe/shower at night, you’re gonna have to make time to wash those armpits before applying. The purpose of using on clean underarms is that the crystal leaves a layer of mineral salt on the skin that helps to prevent the odour causing bacteria from forming. Applying it over odour can also instead cause the crystal to absorb the smell, so then you will just be applying the smell back onto your skin during future use instead of preventing it.

It’s also important to remember not to wet the tip of the stick. For some crystal deodorants they say that you can either apply to wet underarms or wet the tip under the tap, but PitRok day to use on wet, clean underarms only or to apply a small amount of water to the tip with your fingers.

Even though it sounds a bit of a hassle in writing, in practice it’s very simple and quick to use. Just hop out of the bath or shower, grab your PitRok, unscrew the lid, roll over wet underarms and you’re done. It takes as long to dry as your underarms would take to dry naturally anyway (about a minute or so), so no hanging about for ages waiting. No spray in your face or spray to choke on or any white patches either, just no mess, straightforward application.

In regards to longevity, well, we’ve had beautiful weather here lately and I’m always on the go. This deodorant has lasted so well when other natural deodorants have begun to let me down. It won’t prevent you from sweating, so do keep that in mind if you’re trying to counter wet patches, but it does a fantastic job at stopping you from smelling.

As stated in the opening of the post, this is a fragrance free product. Whilst it’s doing an amazing job at blocking body odour, do remember that it won’t be adding any scent either. Therefore, if you like smelling lovely, you’re going to need a body spray or perfume (if you’re stuck trying to choose the perfect summer fragrance, I wrote this post a few years ago to help).

This deodorant also doesn’t block pores, meaning that if you get any of those pesky underarm bumps then this is going to help you a lot. Aluminium in regular deodorants causes these bumps thanks to blocking the pores, and as this one is formed of pure mineral salts, you’re not going to have any of those issues.

That doesn’t mean that it’s 100% issue free though. Sadly, there’s one main thing that you’re going to have to remember - don’t apply it directly after waxing or shaving. This is salt. Your underarms will burn. Give it a little while first and you’re good to go, but please do keep it in mind! 

Going back to the pros though, another fantastic thing about this deodorant is how long it’s going to last. Crystal deodorants don’t run out as quickly as liquid roll-on’s or sprays, and some people have said that theirs can last around a year. If you don’t want to pay more than £5 for a deodorant, think of it this way: each roll-on from a drugstore will set you back £2 or so, and you’re gonna need multiple over the year. Whilst one individual item will cost more, over the year it will cost a lot less.

I love using natural deodorants but some of them I just don’t really get any results from them. In regards to a roll-on, I love the AA Skincare roll-ons, but if you're more open to try a salt-stick deodorant then I love the longevity of this.

Overall, I love, love, loooove this deodorant. It works so well, and I can really understand the rave reviews for it. If you are looking for that perfect natural deodorant, then I highly recommend that you check this one out.
