Remove makeup with just glorious, magical water! |
Yep, those things that you use to clean your kitchen can also be used to remove your makeup. Obviously I'm talking about new and unused cloths, not ones that have already been used to clean surfaces (ew!), but after I found out about this tip they have become my best friend.
Micorofibre cloths can be used just like the MakeUp Eraser. Simply wet the cloth, wring it out and gently wipe them across your makeup filled face to remove it. Your makeup comes away easily and quickly - just like that shot from Mulan where she wipes her makeup away with her sleeves.
When I say gently though, I really do mean gently. If you rub your skin too much with a microfibre cloth then you risk drying out your skin and leaving it tight and uncomfortable. It may even lead to breakouts. This is because the cloths do a great job at removing excess oil and dirt from your skin, therefore lightly wiping it across the skin will be enough.
If you're concerned about your eye makeup, then there's no need. This will remove that too! The only issue is when it is waterproof. If this is the case, you may need to use an oil based remover or a cleanser that is safe to use around the eye area to remove makeup along with the cloth (such as Philosophy's Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser).
Another plus of using a microfibre cloth is for how well it exfoliates the skin. I find that it does a great job at removing blackheads on the nose too.
After removing your makeup you should still give it a clean with your regular face wash (just like you should even if you use makeup remover), but if you want to streamline that even further you can always use the microfibre cloth in conjunction with a cleanser such as Purity, mentioned above, One Love Organics Skin Savior, Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser or The Body Shop's Seaweed Purifying Facial Cleanser.

Putting that aside though, I personally love this trick not for the money aspect but for the great job that it does. After using the cloth my face always feels really clean and fresh, so I recommend it primarily for that point.
And that's my beauty tip of the day for you all!
