Beautifinous.

For spring/summer they are launching a few bright and vivid shades along with another nude that is darker than the previous ones. We have brighter purples than before (the previous purples were primarily quite dark, plum colours) yet also some easily wearable daytime shades.

The packaging is the same as before, a matte black, rectangular tube with the Avon logo around the centre in silver. The top of the lid has a small, plastic window that enables you to see the shade inside.

Results:

Before I get started on the swatches, I just wanted to to make a few observations about the new shades as a whole. 

Firstly, the formulas for all of them are consistent unlike the original shades. Where the nudes were quite patchy before, the nude in this new collection is just as easy to apply with the same finish as the others. Each one is creamy and smooth with no tugging during application.

They all have fantastic longevity. You can get hours of wear from one application, but will likely need to re-apply after eating. 

None of them dry out the lips, so you can rest assured that even after removal your lips will still feel soft. I still recommend using lip balm afterwards though (as with all lipsticks, just incase).

Each of the lipsticks have a fruity scent to them, just like the originals.

Absolutely Coral

Absolutely Coral is a very bright orange-red. Definitely more coral than the original Coral Fever and perfect for summer.

Ideal Lilac

Ideal Lilac is a Barbie, super-girly, pinky-purple hue. I expected to dislike this, but it is incredibly pretty in person.

Mauve Matters

What a gorgeous shade! Mauve Matters is kind of not quite a really dark pink, yet not quite red, if you get what I mean. It’s somewhere in between, in that space where you just can’t decide if it’s one or the other. Either way, it's super stunning.

Marvellous Mocha

Marvellous Mocha is pretty much what it says on the tin - a nude, mocha shade. More importantly though, it's a nude that is a good formula! I was disappointed with previous nude shades, but this one is fab.

Hot Plum

Hot Plum is a bright, bold purple. It's sort of like Splendidly Fuchsia but with extra purple. This shade is perfect for summer.


Overall, I find that these new shades are all fantastic additions to the Perfectly Matte range. There isn't a doozy in the bunch!

If you're after a nude, Marvellous Mocha is the shade that you should try as it has the best formula and finish by far.

The wear time of these is incredible. I managed to get hours of wear without any retouching, even though I was drinking a lot of tea (I'm British). Even after food it was still going strong, albeit a little faded in areas, so it did need a top up then.

They feel comfortable on the lips and they're not drying at all which is fab.

I've not encountered any feathering with these either and I tested them without lip liner.

My favourite of the bunch? You guys had better know that Mauve Matters is going to be in heavy rotation from now on! What a stunning shade!

If you loved the original shades, you will definitely love these. If you didn't love them, you should still try at least one of these as the formulas and shades are all brilliant.
