An explanation and an apology!

Hello everybody!

This post is going to be a different sort of post to what I usually upload onto my blog, but I feel that I owe my loyal readers an explanation.

You may have noticed recently that I have been posting far less frequently than normal. I just wanted to make you all aware that this is not because I am either losing interest in blogging or becoming a bit of a slacker! Myself and my partner have recently found out that we are expecting baby number 2!

As I am sure you are all aware, one of the symptoms of pregnancy is that fantastic thing that they call "morning sickness." However, this term is actually misleading as sickness can hit you at any time throughout the day. Sometimes this sickness can become so violent and restrictive that you can find yourself struggling severely with your day to day activities.

This is called Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Some of you may be fully aware of what this condition is, but for those who don't, it basically describes severe sickness in pregnancy. If you are interested in reading more about Hyperemesis Gravidarum then you can do so here.

My sickness has reached this extreme. A lot of things are becoming pretty difficult for me to do as often as I used to (or at all!). Sadly to say, things that are causing my sickness to get a lot worse include looking at bright screens, looking at a screen with lowered brightness for longer than ten minutes or so and moving around too much. Whilst these are only three of the things that are contributing, they are three that are preventing me from uploading my posts as often as I wish that I could.

I don't want this to come across that I won't be posting anything onto my blog for a while, though! Instead, my posts will simply be uploaded far more sparsely for a period of time. I would much rather make a reduction on the quantity of posts that I upload rather than lowering the quality of the ones that I do.

It is unusual for me to post something that is quite a personal matter, so I won't be discussing it too much or in such detail from now on. I take my blog seriously and I don't want to suddenly stray from it's main purpose. This is a beauty blog and will always be a beauty blog!

With that said, it does mean that in the future I am looking at posing a few pregnancy related beauty posts! Skincare in pregnancy has to get mixed up a bit due to things that are unsafe and new issues that you may encounter with your skin. Instead of letting this all put me down, I fully intend on providing you with some different types of content on occasion!

Even though HG is a miserable experience, I don't intend on letting it completely prevent me from doing what I love on a day to day basis. I am also still really excited about what my family's future involves!

I hope that this has explained enough about why I have been so slow with my posts lately and I hope that you can all forgive me!

In addition, my Birchbox is on the way so I'm excited to get a post up about that for you all when it does arrive!

Thank you all for keeping up to date with my blog. Every view means a lot to me and I hope that you will stick with me in the future! :)

  1. Firstly, congratulation on your pregnancy! That's fantastic! And second, take your time and don't worry about the blog too much, you'll get to it more when you feel better. All the best! xx
